What is cookieless analytics?

Cookieless analytics measures how people use your website without storing any identifier on their device — no cookies, no localStorage, no fingerprint that follows them around. Instead of tagging each visitor, it counts them anonymously, so there is nothing personal to consent to or delete.

Nomada counts a unique visitor by creating a one-way hash from the request — IP, browser and your domain — mixed with a secret salt that is thrown away every 24 hours. We can tell two pageviews apart for a day, then the link is gone forever. You get visitors, pages, sources and devices; your visitors keep their privacy.

Is cookieless analytics accurate?

Yes — often more accurate in practice. Cookie-based tools lose every visitor who declines the banner or blocks third-party cookies. Cookieless analytics counts everyone, so your totals reflect real traffic instead of a consenting subset.

How do you count unique visitors without cookies?

We generate a one-way hash from the IP address, browser and your domain, mixed with a secret salt that rotates every 24 hours. It lets us tell visitors apart within a day, then the salt is discarded so the hashes can never be linked back to a person or across days.

Do I still need a cookie consent banner?

Not for Nomada’s analytics. Consent banners exist because of cookies and similar device storage — and we use none. If other tools on your site set cookies, you may still need a banner for those, but not for us.

Will it work on my website?
